AnnouncementsMay 22, 2010 1.) There are no new prayer requests from Home Office this week but there are cards on the information table awaiting your signature. 4.) We are planning another summer activity for July 11. There will be camping, canoeing, great fun and fellowship on the Eleven Point river in Missouri. Mr. Gary Hall will co-ordinate this event so if you have questions see him. 5.) A number of copies of the correction sheet for our new address list is on the information table. If you want to stay in touch you must have a copy. Pick one up today! 6.) Dale Schurter’s presentation that has been cancelled twice previously is back on the schedule. It will take place on July 24-25 at the Church’s meeting hall in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Schurter will give the sermon on Sabbath morning. Then there will be a presentation after sundown about health. If he sticks to his normal format the first part will deal with health problems which will discourage you and then after a break the second part will deal with what can be done about health problems which will be encouraging. The program on Sunday will deal more with food and agriculture from a Biblical standpoint. You will probably find it most interesting. Make plans now for a great weekend in Cape Girardeau! 7.) If you’ve tried to access our web page lately you know there are further complications. We have really made progress toward password protection for our prayer and announcement pages because you now have to provide the username and password to access them as well as the homepage. Just use the same words: "user" and "faith". We will get there some day. 8.) All transfers to all U.S. and Canadian feast sites have been approved, however Wisconsin Dells is at capacity now and closed to further transfers. 9.) All those qualified to make early housing arrangements for the Feast (you will know if you are) may begin at 10 AM (time zone of the feast site) on Monday morning. If the site is Redmond, Steamboat Springs, Branson or Kerrville, you will be asked for a pass code. See your festival advisor (Jeanene Marty) to obtain that. If you will need financial assistance for the Feast, see Ms. Marty for a form that you will need to fill out in order to be considered for assistance. 10.) Pentecost services tomorrow will be at the Clinton building in Sikeston, MO where we have met for several years. They will begin at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. An offering will be collected during the morning service. 11.) Wanda Hostettler has been in and out of the hospital recently due to pneumonia and a number of factors in her health condition. Continue to pray for Mrs. Hostettler. 12.) Hilda Ray’s sister-in-law, Augusta Merriman (Jack Ray’s sister) has died. The visitation will be tonight at Brown’s Funeral Home im Mayfield, KY from 5-9 PM. The funeral will be held tomorrow.May 15, 2010 1.)There are copies of the reports for the recent Council of Elders meetings in Cincinnati on May 4-5-6 on the information table for your information. 2. There are a number of copies of the prayer requests from Home Office on the information table at the front of the room. Pick up a copy if you like. Also several cards are awaiting your signature. 4.) Dale Schurter’s presentation that has been cancelled twice previously is back on the schedule. It will take place on July 17-18 at the Church’s meeting hall in Cape Girardeau. 5.) Preston and Pauline Fritts send their greetings. They now have a new home phone number and E-mail address. They are: (Contact Bill for details) Pauline is still making satisfactory progress toward recovery from her stroke. Preston informs me that they are pretty well settled in their new house and weren’t bothered by the severe flooding around Nashville and that he has his vegetable garden pretty well planted. They still plan a visit here as soon as Pauline is able to travel. 6.) As you all know, Pentecost is coming up on Sunday, May 23. All three of our congregations will meet in Sikeston, MO at the Clinton building. There will be two services. The morning service will begin at 10:30 AM and the afternoon service will begin at 2:30 PM. An offering will be collected during the morning service. There are still a few maps available if you don’t know the location of the Clinton building. FYI: The Kinseys are going to spend Pentecost in Israel with the Schurters. Pick one up today! May 8, 2010 1.) Mr. Beam feels that the General Conference of Elders went very well and will prove very beneficial for the Church in the future. He said that he felt better coming home than he did going up to Cincinnati. He feels that several "wrinkles" were ironed out. New council members won’t assume their new responsibilities until the beginning of the next fiscal year on July 1. Unless a new full-time president for the Church is chosen before that time, Melvin Rhodes will begin as interim president at that time. For further information there are some copies of the report on these meetings on the information table. 2.) If you’ve tried to access our local website recently you were probably surprised to be asked for a username and password. Thereby hangs a tale. Home office wanted us to either protect our prayer requests with a password or remove them. Our webmaster decided that we should protect both the announcements and the prayer requests. He was soon able to apply a username/password to the whole website but hasn’t yet been able to apply it to just those two sections. Rather than remove the announcements and prayer requests he will leave what we have in place for a while. The username is "user" (without the quotes) and the password is "faith". We apologize for any inconvenience. 3.) There is a stack of sheets on the information table with corrected information for the new address book. Be sure to pick up a copy today. 4.) As you all know, Pentecost is coming up on Sunday, May 23. All three of our congregations will meet in Sikeston, MO at the Clinton building. There will be two services. She has so far received a blood transfusion because she is anemic. They don’t know why but are running tests to check it out. Louise and her family would appreciate your prayers for them. 8.) A happy announcement!! LeighAnn Gholson was baptized Saturday night, May 1 in Cincinnati by Mr. Beam. We just received a call from Terri Anderson and she said that little Tela is still suffering from the infection in her lymph system. There is considerable swelling associated with it. The medicine the doctor prescribed for it tastes so horrible she can’t take it so they are doing home remedies. Perhaps we should join together in prayer for Tela. 7.) On the new calendar there is a potluck scheduled for Paducah next week, May 8. The potluck has been CANCELED because we have to vacate the premises immediately after services to make room for a wedding party. Remember. NO POTLUCK!!! 8.)
